<a href="index.php" title="Homepage">Homepage</a> | <a href="index.php?topic=2004event" title="2004 Event">2004 Event</a> <h1>Wireless Network Access</h1> During the conference, wireless network access will be available for the participants. Unfortunately, TU Delft ICT infrastructure rules are such that access to the network can only be allowed under 802.1x authentication. Each participant will get a unique service account and password with registration for the conference (i.e. when picking up badge and proceedings). The network uses EAP-TTLS type encryption (also known as SecureW2). This probably means that you will need to install an 802.1x client (or client add-on) that supports this type of encryption. Please make sure that you have looked into this issue at home if you intend to use the network (since downloading will be hard without network access). Here are some pointers for various operating systems: <ul> <li> Windows </li> <ul> <li> Windows XP has a native 802.1x client that does not support EAP-TTLS but this type of encryption can be added using the <a href="http://www.securew2.com/uk/" target=_new >SecureW2</a> client from Alfa & Ariss (free for nun-commercial use). <li> Windows 2000 requires the <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/q313664/default.asp" target=_new >Q313664 recommended update</a> (unless you've already installed Service Pack 4). After a reboot, EAP-TTLS support can be added using the <a href="http://www.securew2.com/uk/" target=_new >SecureW2</a> client from Alfa & Ariss. </ul> <li> Linux <ul> <li> For Linux, the open source <a href="http://www.open1x.org/" target=_new >Xsupplicant client</a> for 802.1x supports EAP-TTLS. </ul> <li> Mac OS X </li> <ul> <li> Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther) has a native 802.1x client that supports EAP-TTLS. </ul> </ul> Please note that there will not be any wired network possibilities.
